John Lee Hooker- The Country Blues of John Lee Hooker (1959) John Lee Hooker- Original Folk Blues (1954) Willie Dixon- Blues Every Which Way (1960) So without further ado, here is our list of eligible albums for the first election of our albums/songs portion of the Rock Hall Revisited project!!!!īobby Blue Bland- Blues Consolidated (1958) Because if I was to post the entire thing it would be way too long and people would just get bored looking at it. Hence why it has taken me so long to get this done lol.īecause the list is so long, I am going to divide the list up by genre.

The initial list of eligible albums and songs are going to be bigger than the upcoming classes, because whereas future lists will focus on one specific year, the first list will focus on albums/LP's over a 20 year period, and for songs, over a 60 year period. But I wanted to make sure I included as many albums as possible so that all of the voters here would have plenty to choose from. Many of the albums that will be on these lists probably aren't worthy of inclusion. The list of eligible albums is really big, much bigger than I think people are going to expect for the initial classes. Over the last few weeks, I have done serious research on the first 60 years of popular music and in the case of albums, serious research on the 1940's, 1950's, and 1960. And as we get further into the project, albums from world music, reggae, dance/pop/disco, rap, and electronica will also become eligible.īecause this project is going to be so inclusive, the list of eligible albums and songs is going to be extremely large. Blues, jazz, folk, country, traditional pop, will also be eligible for the project. Our HOF is not going to include just albums from rock and roll and soul/R&B. Which means that any album that was released in 1960 or before will be eligible. Our first year is going to be the 1986 election (aka: albums chosen for induction in 1985). Okay, so unless other people object, it looks like were are going to begin the album/songs HOF project tomorrow, by first going with the albums portion, while I finish up the songs portion.
